First, put one of the crusts on the bottom of a 10" cast iron skillet.
In a large bowl, blend the sugar, almonds, cinnamon and almond flavoring together. Add the blueberries and lemon rind, lightly blending and slightly mashing until the sugar is well blended and the mixture is all blue.
Add the blueberry mixture to the skillet, spreading it evenly over the crust. Top the berries with the second crust and pinch the two crusts together to form a seal. Cut a few slits into the top to vent while cooking. Line the outside edge of the crust with foil to avoid buring the crust.
Bake 30-40 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbling from the slits. Remove the foil from the outer edge and sprinkle the top with raw sugar. Place the pie directly under the flame to brown the crust, watching closely.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
