In a large bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Using your fingers, rub butter into flour until dough resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk, and stir until dough is combined and pulls away from side of bowl.
Using a 1/2 cup measure, drop dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, placing biscuits 2 inches apart.
Bake until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 15 minutes.
