To this day, many people in the southern states of Mexico still make this dish to celebrate big events such as birthdays, weddings, baptism, etc. A great recipe for any day of the year. Serve with beans, rice/quinoa on the side. It is also great to make tacos.
• Place pork at the bottom of the slow cooker; add the onion, marjoram, bay leaf and cinnamon stick.
• In a small bowl, mix the broth with the Oaxaca and Acapulco pastes until fully dissolved. Add the broth mixture to the cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6 hrs.
• Discard bay leaf and cinnamon stick. Add brown sugar, orange zest and chocolate. Serve and provecho!
