Indian chai tea from scratch.
Start water boiling in an inert saucepan. Grind dry mix spices coarsely and add with ginger and black tea to boiling water. Reduce to slow simmer and cover 30 minutes. Add Half and Half, bring to boil, an again reduce to slow simmer. Cover 30 minutes. Steep at least 30 minutes. Strain into serving pot. Add sugar to taste (~1 Tbs/cup).
