Sweet and dense bread that is great with dinner and makes excellent french toast too!
Dissolve 1 teaspoon of honey into 1 cup of warm water and add yeast packet. Set aside for 5-10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine 6 egg yolks, salt, honey, oil, and yeast mixture. Stir in 2 cups of flour and gradually add additional flour until the mixture becomes too doughy to stir. At that point, kneed dough on a floured counter top, continuing to add small amounts of flour until the dough is firm and peels off of the counter easily without leaving any sticky residue behind.
Place the ball of dough back in the bowl, cover with a dishtowel, and allow to rise for 1 hour at room temperature.
After the dough has risen, shape the bread as desired. (I recommend rolling out 3 long strands of dough and braiding them. This gives the bread more room to rise as it's baking and also creates a gorgeous multi-dimensional surface to the finished loaf.) Dust a non-stick baking sheet with flour or cornflour and place the shaped loaf on the baking sheet. Allow to rise for 1 more hour.
Preheat oven to 350.
At the end of the 2nd hour of rising, whisk together an egg yolk and a tablespoon of milk. Use a pastry brush to lightly coat the surface of the loaf with this glaze. Bake for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown.
