Note from original author: Refrigerated pie crusts are cut into quarters & filled with a cheeseburger & fry mixture for a dinner your kids will ask for again & again
Preheat the oven to 400ºF. Prepare the fries according to the package directions, then cut them into bite-size pieces. In a skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion. Cook until they are soft; about 6 minutes. Add the ground beef & salt. Cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until the meat is cooked through; about 5 minutes. Stir in the ketchup & broth. Cook for 3 minutes more. Stir in the fries & all the mixture to cool for 5 minutes. Roll out the pie crusts, then cut each of them into quarters. Spoon the filling evenly into the 8 crusts. Top with the pickles & a slice of cheese. Fold the edges of the crust up to form packets, then seal the edges. Place the pies on a baking sheet & bake for 20 minutes.
