This is comfort food! Great breakfast/brunch dish. Easy to make and you can substitute ingredients for the flavor you want.
Heat oven to 350 degrees farenheit
grease an 8x8 glass pan with butter
cut the bread into pieces and use enough bread to cover the bottom of the pan. If you want additional crust, you can also line the sides with the bread.
Beat the 6 eggs and add all the remaining ingredients. Pour the egg mixture over the bread.
Bake in 350 oven for 30 to 40 minutes, until eggs are cooked and cheese is bubbly/browned on top.
Let cool for 5 minutes and then cut into 6 pieces.
You can exclude the Jalapenos or replace or add additional items such as cubed ham, peppers, bacon, etc.
