Cheesy meatballs with spaghetti


1 pound lean ground beef; (500 grams)
1 egg; lightly beaten
1 cup grated cheese, tasty
1 onion; finely chopped
1/4 cup basil; chopped
1 tbs olive oil
1 jar tomato; onion & basil chunky sauce
1 pound dried spaghetti; (400 grams)
1 Basil leaves; to serve

Original recipe makes 4 Servings




1. Combine meat, egg, cheese, onion and basil. Season and roll into balls.

2. Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Cook half the meatballs for 4-5 minutes. Remove and repeat.

3. Return the meatballs to the pan and pour over sauce. Cover, cook over a medium heat for 20 minutes until cooked through.

4. Cook spaghetti in a large pan of boiling water, as per packet directions. Drain and place in bowl. Spoon over meatballs and sauce. Serve with basil leaves.

I used some of the ingredients the meat, cheese, onions and because I am a person who looovveesss flavor I seasoned the meat to my liking very full robust flavors. And made my spaghetti sauce from stratch. I saut?ed my meatballs in a pan and then placed them in my crock pot with the sauce I made for 2 hours. Prepared my noodles on the side and whala. It was delicious. Thanks for the idea.

After all the great reviews I was excited to make this! Unfortunately it didn't turn out so amazing for me, it was good not great! Thanks for the tip on baking in the oven that helped me. If I try it again maybe I'll add some red pepper flakes or garlic like someone else did, it just needs a little something.

I have always been intimidated by making homemade meatballs. This recipe was so easy and incredibly delicious. My whole family loved it! The only thing I changed was, I used 1 pound of ground beef and half a pound of mild Italian ground sausage.
