Ready in 45 minutes
I used to make this often when we were camping. It is quick, easy and tasty pretty good too. Can't ask for better than that.
Place cherry pie filling in 2 qt casserole.
Place pineapple on top (undrained) sprinkle with nuts.
Cover fruit evenly with cake mix.
Dot with butter. Bake ~~at; 350 for about 40 minutes.
Cake will be crispy.
Apple filling may also be used.

athenacurley 4y agoUsed jars of cherries instead of pie filling. Tasted great!
bonedi39 4y agoEasy and fun to experiment with different fillings. Tried apple which was very good. Cake mix does not combine during baking so I used butter spray to "coat" the top. Also added the butter pats. That seemed to seal in the flavor better.

trishcancook 6y agoWith this recipe, the trick is, you must cut the cube of butter into very thin slices, and put over the cake almost like a layer over the top, so the crust will cook thouroughly. I have had friends who made this recipes not cover the top evenly and there are parts that never cook. Everyone loves this.
