Ready in 45 minutes
Easy, Quick and always popular. This basic recipe allows for great versatility and add-ins.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. ***(Oven temps may vary from one to the other. Please check with thermometer prior to use)
In a mixing bowl, combine the butter with both sugars; cream together with a big
wooden spoon until light and fluffy.
Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Beat until well mixed.
Add the baking soda to the flour and mix well. Add the flour in 3 parts mix until just combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Prepare a large silicone or parchment paper inlay; Scoop into tablespoons,
Bake until cookies are golden around the edges, or just starting to firm up, but still soft in the centre, 10 minutes.
Remove from oven, and let cool on baking sheet 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack,
and let cool completely
Serve with a tall glass of milk or a steaming mug of tea or hot chocolate.
***Pictures taken had an added pc of toblerone.....
Rotating the pan 1/2 way through baking never hurts. I prefer to cook around 325*F to limit browning and maintain a more moist cookie
Jadestarwolf 2m agoIt was delicious and my family loved it. I ended up adding molasses since I was out of brown sugar so it was extra moist.
sllaginess 3m agoSo yummy!
Lynn1775 4m agoUsed 2 sticks softened margarine, added 1 cup chopped pecans. 8 min. @ 350 in my oven. Total chocolate chip perfection.
mamarobin 4m agoI'm just a tiny bit confused by how BigOven lists the ingredients. I'm assuming it's 1 cup of butter OR 1/2 cup butter and 1/4 cup veg oil. So you don't use the oil if you're using 1 cup of butter, correct?
Kylesbrown 4m agoThese were very good and were gone very quickly.
Scoob023 6m agoBy far the best cookie recipe I've ever tried. I used mini chocolate chips (cause I grabbed the wrong ones at the store), and I loved them even more than regular! I've made them 3x this month!
Andipietro48 1y agoI made these once a few years ago and ever since, EVERY time I want to make cookies, I re download this app just to find this very recipe. incredible!!!
ValSloan 1y agoMy first attempt at making homemade cookies and these came out great.
Dlyne 1y agoTry it with cinnamon chips instead of chocolate, Yummy!
mommyof3boys 1y agoMy very picky 4 year old son adores these cookies! I make them for him about twice a week and between him, my husband, and my other two sons, they don't last very long! My mother in law is always in awe about how they stay soft and chewy! Will never try another chocolate chip cookie recipe!
