This is a filipino dish that my niece turned me on to and my whole family just LOVES it. I serve it with brown rice.

Place all ingredients in a pot and simmer until chicken is tender, about 1 hour. Serve hot over cooked rice. It can also be cooked in a crock pot on low setting all day. this easy recipe can be prepared ahead and it freezes well.
amandaboo420w4x9 3m agoThis is a good recipe but I add a tablespoon of brown sugar, green beans, sweet potato, and boiled eggs 30 minutes before its done

musket42 1y agoWay too long cooking time. Bland, I added ginger, peppercorns, less water.

amandamiller2 2y agoi make mine in a crock pot and use the less sodium soy sauce. i also use way more garlic and add green beans, potatos and boiled eggs. After that i add more water to fill the crock pot. SET IT AND FORGET IT.
jaklynmela7 2y agoIt's okay! It wasn't a spectacular recipe like my mom's or sister-in-law's..it was just ALRIGHT. I substituted white vinegar with apple cider vinegar so it wouldn't be so sour and I also used only a cup of soy sauce instead of a cup and a half. I didn't want it to be too salty either. Next time I'll tweak this recipe a little more by frying the chicken a little in the end before serving on the rice.
