Chinese Pepper Steak

Ingredients

1 lb Flank steak; diagonally cut
MARINADE
1/4 c Soy sauce
2 tb Dry sherry
1 ts Sugar
2 ts Cornstarch
1/4 c Water
2 tb Vegetable oil
4 Garlic; chopped
2 ts Ginger root; peeled, grated
2 Scallions; chopped
2 tb Vegetable oil
1 lg Onion
2 Green peppers; sliced

Original recipe makes 4 Servings

Preparation

Marinate steak for 15 minutes or more. Add oil to hot wok. Swirl and stir fry garlic, ginger and scallions for 30 seconds. With slotted spoon, reserving the marinade, add half the steak and stir fry for 3 minutes. Remove and set aside. Repeat with remaining steak.

Add oil and stir fry onion and green peppers for 2 minutes. Push vegetables to sides of wok. Add marinade to center of wok and stir until thickened and bubbly. Blend in vegetables, add steak and heat thoroughly.

Very yummy!! My wife's favorite thing to order out is Pepper Steak and she gave this a thumbs up!! Next time I am going to bump up the soy and let it marinate longer but this hit the spot!

I would make again,I use ground ginger and soy sauce.I also add black pepper and added seasoning to my taste.

Good fresh marinade. The directions on how this dish is put together was hard to understand. I just tossed everything together and it came out good. Added black pepper for added seasoning.

The Marinade is the Soy Sauce, Dry Sherry, Sugar, Cornstarch and Water. I cut the onions in longitudinal strips. I marinated the meat for about 8 hours and the flavor was great.
