Chocolate-caramel cake

This recipe is from Diane Livernois. Not sure of exact name of recipe. Excellant cake! Really moist.


1 box german chocolate cake mix
1 bag caramels
1 bag chopped pecans
1 bag nestle chocolate chips
1 stick oleo or butter
1/3 cup pet milk

Original recipe makes 12 Servings



Make cake mix as directed. Put 1/3 of batter on bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Melt carmels in microwave with stick of butter and 1/3 cup pet milk--melt 2 minutes and stir another 2 minutes and stir again and then 1 more minute in microwave. Pour carmel on top of cake; sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans. Spread rest of cake batter on top. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes.
