Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Spray a 9 X 13 baking pan
Melt the butter in a saucpan over low heat. Remove and let the butter cool.
In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
In a large bowl combine the cooled butter with the brown sugar and eggs and stir until combined.
Add the vanilla and mix well.
Fold the flour mixture into the butter mixture and stir by hand until no dry flour is showing. Do not over mix.
Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts.
Press into the baking dish and bake until golden brown, about 22 to 28 minutes.
