These chocolate chip cookies stay soft and chewy for a long time, and also work great to freeze ahead to pop a few in the oven when you need a quick sweet fix.
Mix together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Add salt and baking soda, mix. Add eggs and vanilla, mix. Add flour, mix. Add chocolate chips, mix.
Spoon golf-ball-sized pieces of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375* for 10 - 12 minutes (or until the tops start to brown).
