Ready in 45 minutes
Cookies are more than good! They are absolutely delicious; they're sweet and buttery and just melt in your mouth!
1. First, combine butter and sugar in your electric mixer until smooth. Add the vanilla. Then, with the mixer running, slowly begin to add the flour and salt, and mix until a dough begins to form. Add the chocolate chips (you can add more than 1/4 cup if you prefer more chocolate).
2. Turn the dough out onto a sheet of wax paper and form into a log. Wrap it in the parchment paper, twisting the ends, and place it in the freezer for a couple of minutes, until it's firm enough to slice easily.
3. Preheat your oven to 350 deg F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. With a sharp knife, cut the log into 1/2 inch thick slices and place onto the baking sheet. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes, until the edges begin to brown.
rachelgreen1 1y agoJust finished making my first batch and mmmmm tasty. I split the mix though and made some with and without chips, and cut the bake time by 5 minutes for gas oven. Delicious.

nesretep 2y agoThese chocolate chip shortbread cookies were fabulous! I wanted a quick and easy dessert for a family dinner and they were just right. I used mini chocolate chips and it worked out wonderfully. A definite keeper.

c.chinn 3y agoI used Smart Balance sticks instead of butter and they are delicious! I'm pregnant and was really craving shortbread and these totally hit the spot! Yummy!
