Melt the butter in a saucepan and saute the leek until soft and lightly golden. Add the pumpkin or butternut squash and continue to cook for 2 minutes. Pour over the stock, bring to the boil and then simmer, covered with a lid, for 30 minutes or until the pumpkin is tender. Puree in a blender, or mash with a fork for older babies.
