Ready in 50 minutes

I haven't tried it, but one could cut the calories in this significantly by substituting sugar-free maple flavored syrup for the real thing.

Ingredients

2 medium apples
1/4 cup Walnuts; chopped
1 teaspoon Brown sugar
1/2 cup Maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
4 teaspoon Earth Balance or other margarine

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350. Cut apples through equator, peel and scoop out core. In small bowl combine nuts and sugar. Pack into apples, put apples back together and into baking dish. In small saucepan, combine syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg. Bring to boil. Add margarine. Pour over apples. Bake 30-40 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.

I only did one apple and didn't peel it. It still came out really good! Adding this recipe to an easy favorite!!!

This is a really great recipe to use up those apples, especially if you have an apple lover in your house who doesn't eat all his apples (figure that one out). I used craisins in with the walnut mixture and it was really good.
