Mix flour, baking soda & salt. Beat whites till stiff peaks form, set aside.
Beat butter and crisco till fluffy. Gradually add sugar, until very fluffy. Add yolks one at a time. Add flour and buttermilk alternately into mixture. Beat in coconut and vanilla. Fold in whites. Pour into pan.
