From Blue Ribbon Recipes
Mix thoroughly sugar, shortening and egg. Stir in milk. Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Spread half batter in greased and floured 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle with half topping. Add remaining batter; top with remaining topping. Bake at 375 degrees 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm.
Topping:
Mix last 5 ingredients together. Sprinkle topping over cake.
