Sauté onions in margarine over medium heat until translucent. Allow onions to cool, then mix in sour cream and half of cheese.
In a large bowl combine egg, oil, milk, cream corn, cornmeal, and hot sauce. Mix well.
Pour mixture into a casserole dish and top with onion mixture. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top.
Cook at 400 degrees for 50 minutes.
