Add the shrimp, toss well, and allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes
In a separate bowl combine the flour, cornmeal, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with paper towel
Heat the oil to 350 degrees F. Working in batches lift the shrimp out of the buttermilk and dredge them in the flour mixture.
Drop them into the hot oil and fry 2 minutes until golden brown, turning them once. Don't crowd them.
Place the finished shrimp on the baking sheet to drain and stay warm until all are cooked.
Don't over cook.
