A basic cream cheese icing.

"This was pretty good. I only put in 4 cups of powdered sugar and it was really sweet. Most of the start to finish time is allowing the cream cheese and butter to soften. I put this on a cinnamon swirl cake."

Ingredients

1 8-oz pack of cream cheese; (8oz. Pack) softened
1 stick butter; (1/2 cup) , softened
2 tsp. Vanilla
6 c. Powdered sugar

Preparation

Allow cream cheese and butter to come to room temperature. Cream together cheese, vanilla, & butter until fluffy. Gradually beat in powdered sugar and mix until smooth and fluffy.

I used 1 cup of powdered sugar and it worked just fine. Tastes great!

I made this recipe with 4 cups sugar... next time I will use 1/2-1 cup more as it came out a little too thin. It tasted wonderful though and I will definately make it again.

Just used the whole box of confectioner's sugar. I added food coloring for my cousins birthday.

Loved it! I used 4.5 cups of powered sugar n it came out great! I'm making it again tonight n putting it on a Pound Cake!

I also only used about 4.5-5 cups powdered sugar. The recipe was enough to ice two layers on my pineapple cake. Very creamy & tasty!

I used 4.5 cups of powdered sugar instead and the icing was fabu on red velvet cake!
