Feel free to leave out the Raisins if you are not a big Raisin fan.
Bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil; stir in Rice. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 20 minutes. In a clean saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups of cooked Rice, 1 1/2 cups of Milk, Sugar and Salt. Cook over medium heat until thick and creamy, about 15-20 minutes. Stir in remaining 1/2 cup of Milk, beaten Egg and Raisins; cook 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in Butter and Vanilla. You can serve warm, but it tastes much better chilled.
