"I liked the crock pot idea but I changed a few things. I put the pudding mixture in a dish that fits inside the pot then put water in the bottom of the crock. This is more like the traditional oven bread pudding. I added 2tsp of cinnamon to the pudding mixture
a tbsp of whiskey to the sauce. "


Ingredients

8 slices White bread; cubed
1/4 c Butter or Margarine; Melted
4 Eggs; beaten
2 c milk
1/4 c Sugar
1 c Raisins
1/2 ts Nutmeg
Sauce On Top
3/4 c Sugar
2 tb Butter
2 tb flour; (rounded tbsp)
1 c Water
1 ts Vanilla

Original recipe makes 8 Servings

Preparation

Place cubes into well-greased crock-pot. In a bowl mix sugar and melted butter, eggs (well beaten) and milk. Beat until smooth. Stir in raisins and nutmeg. Pour over cube mixture. Mix lightly and cook on high 1 hour. Then turn to low 3 or 4 hours. Sauce: Cook until thick. This should be a medium heavy pot. Pour over pudding just before serving. I added brown sugar & soaked my raisens in brandy for 30 min before cooking. Paid with arecipe I found for Mimis cafe Whisey sauce - yum! So easy & even better thenext day!

Just made it for the first time. My family loved it!! This is so good. This sauce was excellent. Next time I will try making raspberry sauce.

Was a good recipe. I used part brown sugar as well and it gave it great flavor. This cooked up very well. The family liked it a lot. Thanks for sharing it!

It was pretty good. You need to be more specific with the ingredients on the sauce. I think i would try some cinnamon with it next time.

I have never made bread pudding in the crock pot before, But this recipe was amazing very good and it is definitly a keeper.
