"Absolutely wonderful! I did not use the foil balls. I stuffed the cavity with rosemary sprigs, chopped onion and crushed garlic cloves and rubbed the skin with olive oil, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. The chicken was fantastic and I made gravy with the juice. This is going to be a regular dish in my house from now on."- Mackster66
Prepare deli-style chicken at home by aid of your crockpot.
Rub chicken with olive oil. Sprinkle with season salt to taste. Spray inside crockpot with non-stick cooking spray. Put foil balls in bottom of the crockpot. Place the chicken on top, breast side up. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4-6 hours.
Note: Do not add water or other liquid to crockpot.
Do not cook on LOW setting.
Hotdoxy 5 months agoI will make this again, however I will cut the cooking time in half. My chicken came out way too dry despite being over twice as big as called for in the recipe.
jandole 8 months agothis was ok..didn't really 'taste' like store bought rotisserie but the flavor was good! Took others advice and stuck in 400 degree oven for about 10/15 mins to brown up...
