"This was a wonderful soup! Best split pea I've ever made, and so easy. Leftovers a few days later were great, too!"- greyherder
Cook on high to get it hot, if you have time, then lower the heat setting to low and cook 8 hours. Dont fill the crock pot too full, due to foaming. Stir, adjust the seasonings and serve. If you like the soup creamy, take out 1/2 c. of the soup and puree in food processor, then blend back into the soup. Pjames666 4 years agoUsed leftover ham vs. bacon. Cubed it. Should've added later rather than at start. Doubled recipe -- barely fit on large CrockPot. Added fresh Bay Leaves and a whole sprig of Rosemary, which helped! But, ended up with Rosemary spines in the soup.
