1. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Make well in centre.
2. In small bowl, beat egg with spoon. Add milk and pour into well. Stir lightly to mix. Batter should be sticky. If it isn't, stir in 1 tbsp of milk at a time until it is. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450F for 10-12 mins until browned. Or, form into circle to break and break off mound to eat with butter. ajhainstock 2w agoI've been making this exact recipe for 5 years and my parents have been since I was a little kid, only thing I do different is instead of butter I store my bacon grease and use that instead makes for w very savoury biscuit. And with stews or chili I ad a cup of fine shredded sharp cheddar cheese. And taste great cold with butter and jam/jelly

1Chefarmiller 3y agoNice and crunchy outside, soft inside and tasted great. Next time I'm going to add garlic salt and cheddar cheese.
besylves 3y agoWonderful biscuits! I adjusted the recipe a little by cutting down the amount of baking powder and adding a dash of cinnamon. Kudos to the original author.
jmhend0 3y agoThis was a great recipe. We used a cup and a half of Brummel & Brown non fat yogurt vegetable oil spread instead of butter or margerine. Dough consistency may be slightly different.
ClubWDW 3y agoOne of the better drop biscuit recipes I've ever made!
