Ran out one day and decided to experiment with the large selection of spices I have on hand. This comes very close.
This will fill a standard spice jar to about half.
I grind my seeds in a coffee grinder.
Make sure all is ground fine.
Mix well.
Some say to use caraway seed as a substitute but it lacks that earthy pepper-like smell of cumin and has too much licorice in the taste. I find that adding the lemon pepper gives it more of the citrus flavor cumin in known for.
