1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Make apple filling by combining water, cinnamon, sugar, and cornstarch in a large saucepan. Mix well, then add apples to pan. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender. Pour apple filling into a 9X13 pan.
3. Make topping by combining oats, butter, and brown sugar. Mix well and sprinkle over apple filling.
4. Bake for 20 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
This was soupy but oh-so-good. Keep in mind that the preparation is for 10 servings but the ingredients are for 5.
