"8 hrs was to long and made is mushy. but other than that it was really good. im making it again tonight and cooking it for less time. i leave the nuts out and my 15 month old loves it! served with an egg it has oodles of the nutrition they need."

Ingredients

2 cups milk
1/4 cup Brown sugar
1 Tbsp. Butter; melted
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup apple; chopped
1/2 cup Raisins
1/2 cup Walnuts; chopped

Preparation

Combine ingredients in crockpot. Mix well. Cover and cook on LOW 6-8 hours.

OK. It went 61/2 hours and still too long My kids eat oatmeal all the time and were not impressed

Way too long to cook for me. Mine was too burnt.

8 hours was TOO long for me. I suggest starting at 6 hours at the longest, and going from there.

I'd like to add that you'll probably want to grease your crockpot so it won't be stick to the sides so much like my first batch of this yummess. :) also, non-quick oats work as well. I've been using Snoqualmie Ridge (a local brand) oats.

this is also good using irish steal cut oats, thats my favorite, thats all i changed tho, i only use quick oats for cookies, cant wait to try your next favorite oatmeal recipe, CCheryl
