A sweet and creamy sauce with a touch of garlic, great with donairs or garlic fingers.


2/3 cup Evaporated Milk
2/3 cup Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
2 tablespoons White vinegar

Original recipe makes 1



Stir together evaporated milk, white sugar and garlic powder until sugar is dissolved. Add 2 tablespoons white vinegar and stir to thicken. Cool in fridge.

It's not heated at all. Just mix the ingredients together in a bowl and then refrigerate.

It says to cool in fridge ,but didnt say anything in the recipe about heating it in the first place .Does all the blending happen in a saucepan first?I really want to try this one.

need more vinegar. When making the suace you are looking to get a reaction between the sugar and the vinegar that causes the thickening. Add the same amount of vinegar as you do sugar to get the desired reaction. Once you add the vinegar, stir it ONLY 4 or 5 times more then stop and refridge immediately. Try 2 (big) Cans condensed milk 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2cup vinegar and 1 tblsp of garlic powder.
