A simple banana-orange smoothie that I just kind of improvised one hot afternoon. It's sweet and cold and very refreshing.
Fill an ice cube tray with orange juice and let freeze
Peel and slice bananas
(I've found 1/8-1/4 inch slices easiest to work with)
Put bananas into a container and sprinkle with sugar, close the container and shake to coat slices then place in freezer for a few hours or overnight
Place all of the frozen bananas in a blender
Pour in the orange juice
Add the orange juice cubes
Blend until smooth
I will add a little half-and-half for some fat or maybe some frozen yogurt, and it comes out velvety smooth and so quenching on a hot South Florida afternoon.
