Simple banana bread recipe that requires only one bowl and no mixer needed!
"Mmmmmm! Outstanding! We had 2 bunches of way overripe bananas that we put to perfect use in this recipe! I coated the pans with shortening and brown sugar and sprinkled a bit on the top of each loaf, along with slivered almonds. What a fantastic dessert bread! Perfect, straightforward recipe. I'll certainly make this again. My whole fam loved it!
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine ingredients in large mixing bowl.
3. Pour batter into 2 prepared bread pans.
4. Bake for 1 hour or until firm and golden brown.
5 Cool on wire rack for at least 15 minutes before turning bread out onto tray.
SanctifiedVengeance 3w agoI'm going to tell you right now, that I have been using this recipe for years. At least since I was in high school, and I am now 24. I love it. Everyone loves it. Easy to modify for what you want. I routinely cut out a cup of sugar, and you can easily use regular or brown sugar. I have made both, and typically use a cup of each. Have done slivered almonds on top. It's good, but I usually don't do it because I have a close friend allergic to nuts. Also, smashing bananas is fun. :)
homesteadrecipes 4m agoThis is my favorite banana bread recipe, and I have tried dozens.
Cris11 7m agoI think 3 cups of sugar is way too much. Looks easy though, will try it..

Travelers 1y agoGreat banana bread recipe and so easy!
Chrispizzacalla 1y agoJust a note: 1 cup of banana is approximately 10 oz or 284g. But I like using a little more banana than what is called for.
