Suggest a better descriptionMix dry ingredients, add 1/2 jug of buttermilk til dough forms. Mix thoroughly & finish adding remainder of buttermilk. If dough is too dry, add more buttermilk to make smoother. Also if too wet, add more flour.
Knead dough & separate into balls, should come out to 10/11 balls of dough. Using rolling pin, roll each ball into tortilla shape. Be sure to knead ball once more before cooking. No dough should come off on ur hand while kneading.
Preheat cast iron skillets to cook tortillas. Be sure to grease ahead of time using vegetable oil so tortillas won't stick to the pan or burn. Set stove to level 5 for cooking flour tortillas, should only take less than 5 min. to cool each one. Once u see bubbles forming on top, that's when they need to be turned over to cook each side. May have to flip once more to ensure golden brown crust.
Cut into halves & place in plastic bags to freeze right away.
