French Toast, Breakfast
"I find it completely odd, if you go to any local restaurant in Erie PA, their version of 'french toast' is simply to a very light coating of egg only bread and fry it. It drives me up the wall. I rather have scrabbled eggs on toast, please."
1.Combine and beat together egg, sugar, milk, salt, desired spices, and vanilla.
2. Heat a lightly buttered griddle or skillet over medium-high.
3. Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides.
4. Place in skillet or griddle and cook on both sides until golden.
Serve hot with:
Pure Maple Syrup
or Powdered Sugar
or Favorite Jam

timgraham1 1y agoThe brown sugar makes this recipe. Awesome french toast recipe, highly recommend the powdered sugar.
cmorris25 1y agoThis recipe is really good.. The nutmeg was a little over powering, next time I will use less, other than that, this is a really good recipe.

LavenderWand 2y agoThis is my favorite french toast recipe ....minus nutmeg with a little extra brown sugar. Made both regular-sliced white bread and raisin bread. Enjoyed by everyone.
