I've had many. But my godmother's good friend Steve made this one for me one day and left me hooked. I will never ever have another one again.
1.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Mix all ingredients of the fruit layer and fill into an oven dish (should not be more than half full).

Combine crumble ingredients in a bowl and knead until it resembles crumbs. Sprinkle over fruit and press down firmly. Lightly run a fork over the surface (this way the crumbs will turn out crunchier).

Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Leave to stand for 10-15 minutes before serving. Nice with ice cream or custard.
I love it with apples and blackberries, but plums and pears, even kiwis, work nicely, too. The original recipes says peaches and apricots are a great alternative in summer, but I haven't tried that so far. So if anyone does: tell me how it went.
