For the bread machine. I don't remember where I got this recipe from, but it has become a staple for our family.
Place all ingredients in bread machine in order suggested by manufacturer. Use basic bread setting. Check dough after five minutes of mixing; add one to 2 tbsp. of water or flour if needed.
This is a light-flavored, delicious bread, best enjoyed warm.
12241245 4 years agoI have never needed to add flour, but I often need to add water. With my machine, I can tell this because the kneading blade will squeak and sound labored. If I don't add water when this is happening, the crust comes out too hard. I live in a dry climate at almost 5000 feet elevation; results may be different in other locales. [I posted this recipe.]
