Suggest a better descriptionPut honey and butter in a heavy large iron skillet on top of stove. Melt slowly wit low heat. Core the unpeeled apples and cut them crosswise into ring slices, 3/4" thick. Make enough to cover the bottom of the skillet. Add the apple rings to honey and butter and simmer until the apples are partly cooked, turning once. Place halves of nuts around the apples. You can also place a marachino cherry in the center of each apple slice. Cream butter and honey, add eggs and beat till smooth. Add milk alternately with the dry ingredients. Pour the batter over the hot skillet mixture. Put skillet into a 350F hot oven and bake for 30-35 min. or until center of cake is done. Turn upside down on a large platter while still warm. Serve hot or cold. Serves 10. busted by sooz Posted to recipelu-digest Volume 01 Number 179 by James and Susan Kirkland
