This is my grandma Weaver's recipe. They are delicious and light.
Beat butter, sugar and powdered sugar together. Add eggs and vegetable oil. Sift and add the flour, soda, cream of tartar and lemon flavoring.
Refrigerate 1 hour or overnight. Roll into small balls (size of small walnuts). Press down with glass dipped in sugar and place 1 inch apart on baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Makes 5 dozen.
My grandmother used to put a pecan half on top of each cookie.
