Ready in 20 minutes
My family has enjoyed this for generations
Combine all ingredients EXCEPT Baking Powder. Beat until smooth. Slowly add Baking Powder while mixing continuously.
Pour into waffle maker and bake at Med-High heat until golden brown.. Excellent with Chicken and Gravy..
On my gas range, 1 1/2 dots above "MED". 1/2 cup per waffle.
jillofspeed 1y agoI bought a cuisinart "griddler" last month & since then have been trying various waffle recipes. So far this one is the winner. I used 1 cup 2% and 1 cup buttermilk. I was a little heavy handed with the sugar :) and added a teaspoon of vanilla, a personal preference. They came out light and fluffly, and when cooked for 4 minutes they were nicely browned and a little crispy. The flavor was a little eggy, which I liked. I ate mine with butter only, and they were yummy.
lilcountrycook 2y agoGreat recipe to experiment flavors with. I used the basic part of the recipe and added some vanilla and cinnamon. It was good and the kids loved it. I also tried the honey. Easy recipe to use.
Soleye 3y agoShould have made it 1 cup of oil
Soleye 3y agoShould have added half a cup of sugar
JKRojahn 4y agoI didn't follow this recipe exactly, as I used Soy Milk instead of cow's milk or buttermilk and I used Extra Virgin Olive Oil instead of vegetable oil. This recipe is a great, basic and easy to make recipe and I make it often. I play with it every now and then. The last batch I made, I added two tablespoons of pure honey. Yum! I usually make a double batch of these and freeze them; the kids love them for breakfast. They're delicious and easy to make!

Scrimbaby 4y agoIf we followed every recipe to the letter we would not ever have good food we can enjoy because were not the same they were good and I added a little vanilla to mine with farm fresh eggs came out delicious and fluffy one cup of buttermilk with one cup of 2%
cleverknc 6y agoThese waffles were heavy and tasteless... Batter was way too thick and just didn't work.
