Suggest a better descriptionClean the beans, cut into 2" sticks. Slice ham or sausage into pieces less than 1/8". Chop onion and garlic. Wash tomatoes / blend into sauce. Heat the oil/sweat the sausage ( if using a fat rich sausage, skip the oil as sausage will have enough fat to sauté the onions.). Add onions and garlic; sauté. Add spices. Add wine or beer if using. Simmer again several minutes; basically you are making tomato sauce to this point. Finally, add beans and cook on L to M heat (20 minutes- firm to bite), 30 minutes-done.). Serve with meat dishes, and rice/noodle/mashed potatoes. Serves 4.
