Ready in 30 minutes
Delish! Very easy to make. Only bean burger I've ever made that didn't fall apart and maintained a texture very much like a meat burger.
In a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray, saute onion and garlic in oil for 2 minutes. Stir in the carrot, chili powder and cumin; cook 2 minutes longer or until carrot is tender. Remove from the heat; set aside.
In a large bowl, mash the pinto beans and black beans. Stir in the oats. Add the mustard, soy sauce, ketchup, pepper and carrot mixture; mix well. Shape into eight 3-1/2-in. patties.
Coat grill rack with cooking spray before starting the grill. Grill patties, covered, over medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until heated through. Serve on buns with lettuce and salsa.
Loved the texture, closest to a real burger I've ever made! It did not fall apart and grilled very easily. LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!

momztaxi 1y agoThis recipe was simple.. It took little bit of time to make but its awesome. .it didn't fall apart on grill. I added mushrooms to carrots mixture and flax seedpaste to help.

Heathenpoet 4y agoGreat! Texture means you can move them without them disintegrating like others I tried. Worked great with haricot+kidney beans instead :)
