Pepperoni pizza, grilled cheese style!
If you want crispy pepperoni, fry them on med-hi until crisp.
Butter one side of each piece of bread.
Heat frying pan to med or med-hi heat, put one slice of bread, butter side down in pan.
Put one slice of cheese on bread, then pepperoni, then another slice if cheese to top it.
Place last piece of bread butter side up on top.
Flip after about 2-3 min , cook until golden on both sides
Put marinara sauce in a small bowl/cup/dipping sauce cup, and microwave for 30 seconds.
Serve with marinara sauce as dip.
Enjoy!
I use pepperoni from the deli sliced thin, it's a larger slice than prepackaged pepperoni.
Variations:
I use whole wheat bread.
You could substitute provolone for mozzarella
I used left over spaghetti sauce for dip instead of marinara
I also cook the sandwich in the pepperoni oils I cooked off the pepperoni ( a little more unhealthy, but delicious
