Recipe from my dear friend Devika's father Soundara Manickam (named after him). Creamy, rich and intense flavor of South India.
In a shallow pan fry ingredients NOT marked with asterisk * in olive oil for 2-3 minutes on medium-low heat.
Let the mix cool and grind to a paste in a mixer. Add water if needed.
Add salt to taste.
Now fry ingredients marked with asterisk * same way as indicated above.
Add to chutney and mix.
Enjoy.
