Suggest a better descriptionWash beans, add 8-10 C water and soak overnight. Do not drain. Add hambone, salt, peppercorns, and bay leaf. Cover pot and simmer for 3 hours. Remove hambone and bay leaf. Pull meat off bone, return to pot. Sauté onion celery and carrot in a little olive oil, add to soup.
