Suggest a better descriptionPreheat oven to 350. Peel and slice potatoes. Alternately layer the potatoes and ham with the top layer being potatoes. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, add flour to create a rue. Slowly add milk/cream and increase heat to medium. Stir constantly until mixture boils, careful not to burn it! Remove from heat and add the salt and pepper. Pour this mixture over the ham/potato layers. Bake covered for 1 hour and 15 min.
