"I like this to use up leftover ham. I use healthy request cream of chicken soup becuase my kids would not eat it if they saw a mushroom. I also omit the butter and onion, again the kids would object to onion and sometimes its just tot worth the fight. My husband likes a little breadcrumb or crushed cracker on the top. I serve it with a nice big salad. "


2 c macaroni; Cooked
1/2 c milk
1 cn Cream of mushroom soup
2 tb Butter
1 1/2 c Ham; cubed
2 tb Onions; chopped
1 c Cheddar Cheese; grated

Original recipe makes 4



Cook ham and onions in butter. Add soup, milk and cheese; cook until cheese melts. Add remaining ingredients. Bake in greased 2-quart casserole at 350F for 30 minutes. Posted to MC-Recipe Digest V1 #359 From: Nancy Pallotta Date: Sun, 29 Dec 1996 23:04:20 -0500

Even though I made it gluten-free my kids, my husband and I all agreed that this recipe is a keeper. It's a great use of leftovers, has a reasonable number of ingredients and tastes great. I used Progresso Gluten-Free Cream of Mushroom, and Gluten-Free noodles. I used an extra cup of noodles because it looked to liquidy. Then I spread some cheddar and corn flake crumbs on top. I cooked it in a 9x13 baking dish for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

It was ok, but I wouldn't make our again. Kind of bland. Thought it would be more mac n cheese like.

Good dish! I added chives, garlic pepper and more mushrooms. Next time i will use less butter and more soup.
