This is a delicious alternative to preservative- and allergy- laden boxed skillet "Helper." For those in the family without allergies, serve this with shredded cheddar cheese, or French's Fried Onions.
Preheat a large (12 inch) skillet with lid over medium high heat (4-5 on a gas range). Place the beef in the skillet and season with garlic salt, pepper, minced garlic and diced onion. Brown the beef, breaking up the beef into small pieces. When the beef has cooked through, drain the fat by placing the beef on a colander. Pour the canned tomatoes, along with the juice, into a hot skillet. Add the remaining herbs and bring to a boil. Add the pasta and meat to the skillet. Stir to cover the pasta with tomato sauce, and cook on medium for 15 minutes, stirring every five minutes.
