"Homemade" hamburger helper

Quick, one dish, kid loving, dinner. Ground beef, macaroni with tomato soup base. Cheese optional....definitely a plate cleaner.....


1 1/2 lbs ground beef browned
2 cans condensed tomato soup; (undiluted)
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni or small type/shaped pasta
2 cups of Water
1 tbs onion; dried minced
1 tsp garlic; granulated
salt and pepper; to taste
1 cup cheese cheddar; shredded (OR: colby jack, mozzarella (optional)

Original recipe makes 4



Brown ground beef in skillet pan. Drain liquids after browning. Stir in tomato soup, macaroni pasta, water and seasonings. Uncovered bring to boil. When it reaches a boil, turn to simmer and stir frequently about 5-7 mins. until pasta is tender.

May sprinkle on cheese and cover for a few minutes until cheese melts.

Serve with fruit, salad and or dinner rolls.

It was not very good it was not my favorite but it might be the way I cooked it.

This recipe turned out so good. I did change a few things. I used bison instead of hamburger and egg noodles instead of macaroni for a slightly healthier meal. It was much better than what you buy at the store.

Its good but a little bland on its own. I spiced it up with italian seasoning and chil powder. Overall a good each, especially with a little extra cheese.
